As part of the Thicket of Diversity, All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory (ATBI), a "float" trip along the Neches River to explore types of fish and habitats will be lead by Dr. Chad Hargrave.

Launch on Friday, April 23 and take out on Sunday, April 25

  • Departure on Friday, April 23, 7 a.m.
  • Meet at Eastex Canoe Trails in Silsbee. Eastex Canoe Trails, 1698 US Hwy 96 South, Silsbee, TX 77656

  • Cost: approx. $50.00 per person, includes canoe rental, shuttle and launch. If you have personal canoe, the cost will be $30.00 (shuttle & launch)
  • Meals: 3 meals/ day will be provided at a small cost per person (approx. $10-15 each day)
  • Return on Sunday, April 25, 5 p.m. (this is changed from the original, earlier off river)
  • BRING: personal gear, dry bag, tent, sleeping bag, extra clothing, bug spray, sunscreen, hat.
