BioBlitz- June 13 and 14, 2008

JOIN us as we discover and celebrate the incredible biodiversity around us! Start with attending SEMINARS at the Field Research Station in Saratoga, TX on Friday, June 13, 6:00/9:00 p.m. BIOBLITZ: Saturday, June 14, 8:00 a.m.... Meet at the Visitor Center for field trips with scientists, exhibits, & kids activities. Saturday EVENING Amphibian survey: join the Houston Zoo amphibian researchers to search for amphibians in the Big Thicket--7:00 p.m.

BioBlitz is a quick intensive ecological survey meant to catalog as much biological diversity as possible in a concentrated period of time and defined area.

 

Join us as we discover and celebrate the incredible biodiversity around us.

Interact with scientists and enjoy fun, educational activities as we discover together!

SATURDAY, JUNE 14 JUNE 13 AND 14, 2008

 

SEMINARS:

FRIDAY at the Field Research Station in Saratoga, TX. -- 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
SATURDAY at the Big Thicket National Preserve Visitors’ Center, north of Kountze, TX– 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and evening amphibian survey-- time TBD

 

FIELD TRIPS AND EXHIBITS:


FIELD TRIPS WITH SCIENTISTS: beginning at 8 a.m. and including an evening amphibian survey (time for evening field trip to be determined)

EXHIBITS AND KID’S ACTIVITIES

 

*Participants on field trips need to come prepared for the environment: bug spray, sunscreen, hat and bring drinking water
