Big Thicket Bulletins

Speaking of weighty words set to lively music, longtime friend and director of the BTA Dr. Pete Gunter wrote and recorded a song in the 1960’s or 70’s called “The Last Big Thicket Blues.” Recently, Maxine Johnston shared her 45-rpm record with Dale Parish, who digitized it for us. I highly recommend listening to the song with thanksgiving for the ones who fought so hard to create the Big Thicket National Preserve. If the tune makes you want to "clomb up on a joist and commence to fiddling", so much the better. With thanks to Maxine and Dale and permission from Pete.
